âWe Can Now Proceedâ: Trump Just Declared War on Birthright Citizenshipâand the Court Handed Him the Ammo

So Trump went on stage today with that smug little "I just got away with it again"Â look and dropped this gem while talking about ending birthright citizenship:
"It was meant to be for babies of slaves."
Yes. He actually said that. Out loud. On purpose.
Heâs referring to the 14th Amendment, which guarantees anyone born on U.S. soil the right to citizenship. And according to Trump, it doesnât apply to immigrantsâit was just for the descendants of slaves. You know, back when the country was pretending it wanted to fix the horrors it built itself on. Apparently, according to Trump logic, if youâre not a direct descendant of slavery, your kid doesnât deserve a damn thingâeven if theyâre born in a hospital in Omaha with a Social Security number and an American flag blanket.
And this isnât just Trump running his mouth. This quote came on the same day the Supreme Court handed him a winâruling that federal judges can no longer issue nationwide injunctions to stop his executive orders. Translation? His executive order ending birthright citizenship can now start taking effect in states that havenât filed lawsuits yet. Full enforcement could start by late July unless itâs stopped.
So noâbirthright citizenship wasnât âofficially revokedâ today. But the Court just cleared the path for it, and Trump already has his boots on and is whistling down that road.
The media will spin this as a âtechnical decision about judicial power.â Donât fall for that. This was a power grabâone designed to slowly erase rights for the people Trump and his base donât see as âreal Americans.â Heâs not even hiding it anymore. Heâs telling you exactly who he thinks the 14th Amendment was meant forâand who it wasnât.
This is white nationalist revisionism dressed up in legalese. âBabies of slavesâ is just the new âyou will not replace us.â
đ„ WTF do we do now?
We keep the pressure on. We donât wait for MSNBC to tell us itâs serious. We donât wait for Congress to âstudy it.â We hit the streets, hit the courts, and blow up the timeline with the receipts.
Because this moment isnât just some procedural changeâitâs the cracking sound of the foundation. And if you donât feel it shaking yet, youâre either asleep or standing too close to power.
